Description

Zig Zag Word Search places words in zig zag / jigsaw / tetris-style pieces. For regular Zig Zag Word Search puzzles, the letters of the words are connected vertically or horizontally. All the words together completely fill the grid.

The ‘Extras Add-On’ adds diagonal letter connections in addition to the vertical and horizontal connections. This results in puzzles that are much more difficult.

The other benefit of the Extras Add-On is the use of segmented word lists: You can set exactly which words should be used together in a puzzle, and separate them by a blank line.

Note: Since the total number of letters in the word list should be the same as the total number of letters in the grid, you do have to be careful when you set up the word lists (this is a huge difference compared to the classic word search generators)

Ease of Use

Select Grid Type: “Squares Diagonals”, then create a Zig Zag Word Search Puzzle as usual:

The easiest way:

Use a list that has enough words and characters to fill the grid,

Paste it in the Word List area, and

Click “Next Preview”

For a 10×10 grid you’d need exactly 100 letters, but if you use words with a total of e.g. 150+ letters, the software will pick the right words to exactly fill the grid.

A bit less easy:

Use the Random Fills on the Advanced tab to fill up the grid when the combined words don’t exactly have 100 letters.

The best way:

Either go with the first option: Use many words and let the software select them randomly, or count the letters of the words you want to use and make sure there are exactly enough letters to fill the grid.
