Regular Criss Cross — words that lock
Regular Criss Cross is the classic intersecting page. Words share letters. Across and Down both print. Letter cells stay empty on the puzzle image and fill on the solution. Word numbers sit small in the corner or on a full-square badge.
Look Inside and the pack thumbnail have to be this list’s crossings — APPLE sitting on PEAR — not a leftover canned grid. There is no secret-answer strip and no letter-hint numbers. The shopper who wants a Kriss Kross / crossword book is buying this look.
Secret Word Criss Cross — the same crossing, plus a second job
Secret Word Criss Cross is still a real intersecting crossword. Words cross. Across and Down both print. What the first page adds is a blank strip under the grid. Numbered letters inside the solved crossword copy onto that strip and spell the secret word or phrase.
The other mode turns the strip off and numbers letters in the grid instead. Secret word or letter hints — one or the other, never both on the same page. The secret is optional: the Type can still print a plain crossing if you leave it off.
The strip is the listing. A winter crossword that only fills boxes looks like every other sample in the category. A winter crossword whose page one still has WINTER to write on the line is a different product. Word Spiral — one path, words do not cross
Word Spiral is the look that stops being a crossword the moment the shopper opens the sample. Words sit end-to-end on a sparse spiral. They do not share letters. There is no Down list. Letter count sizes the coil (usual start 100 letters), not a word-count cap. Letters stay off the puzzle image.
Real spiral or square spiral. Square cells or circle cells. The rule does not change: start at the first marker (Numbers 1… or Letters A…), walk the path, the next word begins where the last one ended. A shopper who wanted boxes that lock will bounce. A shopper who wanted a coil will stay.
One look per listing
Three looks is three listings, not one ZIP called “crossword pack.” A KDP title whose Look Inside is an intersecting grid should not surprise the buyer with a coil on page twelve. An Etsy pack whose thumbnail is a spiral should not hide a secret strip in file four.
