Four short sudoku printable packs on a cream desk — a classic 9×9 digit grid, a letter Wordoku grid, irregular jigsaw regions, and dashed killer cages with printed sums — answer-key sheets beside them, no software UI, no marketplace logos

Sudoku Printables for Etsy

Etsy sells a sudoku pack as a file. A dozen pages in one look, answer keys in the ZIP, printed at home this afternoon. KDP sells the same four looks as a long interior judged on Look Inside. Same generators, two different products. This page is the sudoku shelf for the Etsy side.

The printable contract — short themed pack, stated page count, a page one that reads in a thumbnail, keys in the file, an honest license line — is already written in [Selling Puzzle Printables on Etsy](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/selling-puzzle-printables-on-etsy/). This page does not rewrite it. It picks the four sudoku-variant looks that survive it.

A pack is not a book

The channel difference is real, not cosmetic. An Etsy sudoku pack is small and themed: one variant, one difficulty band, puzzles plus keys, and the thumbnail does the selling. A KDP sudoku book is a hundred-page interior with a trim size, and the Look Inside sells it. The buyer, the price, and the first thing they see are all different.

Comparison of an Etsy sudoku printable pack — short, themed, keys included, sold by its thumbnail — versus a KDP sudoku-variations book — long interior, trim size, sold by its Look Inside

That means two mistakes to avoid. Do not dump a 100-page interior into a “printable” listing — it has no theme, book pricing it can no longer bear, and a copyright page where the thumbnail should be. And do not pad a 12-page pack to book length and send it to Amazon. The book side of this family lives on the [KDP sudoku variations hub](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/kdp-sudoku-variations-book/).

A classroom one-page-plus-key is a third product. Same four variants, different file: one activity page plus a clean key. That TPT sudoku worksheet hub is not on the site yet. This shelf is a themed pack, not a warm-up sheet. If you are still deciding which shop gets which product, the [TPT vs Etsy vs KDP split](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/tpt-vs-etsy-vs-kdp-puzzle-products/) is that article. The [four-channel map](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/interiors-vs-printables-vs-worksheets-vs-embeddable-puzzles/) is the product-form article underneath it.

The sudoku shelf: four looks

Etsy’s sudoku shelf is thick with classic 9×9 packs. The way out is a variant whose page one is obviously something else at thumbnail size — or a classic pack whose theme and preview still earn the click. Four live Puzzle Maker Pro modules cover it. Each look is its own listing, not a new cover on the same pack.

Four side-by-side printable pages: a classic 9×9 with 3×3 boxes, a Wordoku letter grid, a jigsaw grid with wandering region borders, and a killer grid of dashed cages with printed sums

Classic 9×9 — digits and 3×3 boxes

[Sudoku 9×9 Creative](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/product/puzzle-maker-pro-sudoku-9×9-creative/) is the baseline: given digits, bold 3×3 boxes. It sells on a tight theme and a stated difficulty band, not on looking different. A fall easy pack and a winter hard pack are two listings. A leftover dump of every level you ever generated is not.

The book-length treatment of Creative fill — Roman numerals, letters, pictures on the same 9×9 — is already written in the [KDP sudoku variations hub](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/kdp-sudoku-variations-book/). This page will not redraft it.

Wordoku — letters that carry the theme

[Wordoku](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/product/puzzle-maker-pro-wordoku/) replaces digits with letters from a word list, and the solution spells the word. That ties the pack to the niche: holiday terms, Bible words, animal names, vocabulary. In a thumbnail it reads instantly as “sudoku, but letters” — which is the point. It is not the same listing as a Creative letter set, because the words are the product, not just the symbols. Pick one size band per listing.

Jigsaw — regions that wander

[Jigsaw Sudoku](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/product/jigsaw-sudoku/) throws out the 3×3 boxes and cuts irregular interlocking regions in their place, on 6×6 and 9×9 boards. The bold borders wander, and the thumbnail stops looking like every other grid. Solvers also search for it as irregular, squiggly, or nonomino sudoku — three more keyword routes into the same pack. Color the regions when you need the shapes to read at thumbnail size. Every generated board has one solution. That is a listing fact.

Killer — cage sums instead of givens

[Killer Sudoku](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/product/killer-sudoku/) keeps the regular boxes and replaces the given digits with dashed cages and printed sums. On the harder pages there is not a single starting digit anywhere. It is the most visibly different page in the family while staying a sudoku a fan picks up in thirty seconds. 6×6 or 9×9. One size band per listing. Keys show the filled digits on the same cage map.

Not on this shelf

Hitori and Binary read as number pages: a full digit grid you shade, a 0/1 grid you fill. They live on the [Etsy number-puzzle shelf](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/etsy-number-puzzle-printables/), matching the KDP split. Keep those packs on the number line.

One look per pack

One look, one theme, one difficulty band per listing. A fall Wordoku pack, a winter Wordoku pack, and a weekend Killer pack are three honest listings. Forty boards of every variant in one ZIP is the grab-bag nobody searched for. The second pack in any look is cheap: swap the theme or the size, regenerate, re-cut the file. What you never do is relist the same pack under a new cover.

Every puzzle pairs with its solution, so the keys page count is the puzzle page count — state both in the description: “12 puzzle pages + 12 answer pages.” Commercial rights to sell the finished puzzles as printables are part of the Puzzle Maker Pro license, as stated on the [homepage](https://www.bookpublishertools.com/); that covers you and the software, not Etsy’s own digital-item rules.

The whole point

A sudoku printable on Etsy is a short themed pack in one look, with keys in the file and a page one that survives a thumbnail. Four looks — classic 9×9, Wordoku letters, jigsaw regions, killer cages — are four listings, not one. Pick the look the listing is selling. Leave the hundred-page interior on Amazon. Leave the one-page classroom file on Teachers Pay Teachers.
