Install Puzzle Maker Pro Online and Try the Demo Puzzles

Summary: Install the Puzzle Maker Pro Online plugin on your WordPress site and publish a ready-made set of playable puzzles in minutes — no export needed — using the built-in demo catalog.

Overview

Puzzle Maker Pro Online is a WordPress plugin that turns the puzzle catalogs you create in Puzzle Maker Pro into playable, interactive pages on your own site. This tutorial covers the first two steps: installing and activating the plugin, then publishing the bundled demo catalog so you can see a working puzzle page before you export anything of your own.

The plugin does not generate puzzles — it publishes and hosts catalogs you have already made. The actual playing happens in the visitor’s browser, rendered by the hosted Puzzle Maker Pro engine.

What You Need

  • A WordPress site (version 6.0 or newer) where you can install plugins.
  • The PHP zip extension (ZipArchive) enabled on the server — almost all hosts have it. The plugin checks for it and tells you if it is missing.
  • The plugin zip, wp-puzzle-maker-pro-online-v1.0.zip or newer, from your bookpublishertools.com member area.

No puzzle export is required for this tutorial — the demo catalog is bundled with the plugin.

Install and Activate the Plugin

  1. In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Choose wp-puzzle-maker-pro-online-v1.0.zip and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate.

A Puzzle Catalogs menu appears in the admin sidebar. That confirms the plugin is active.

If you see a notice that the zip extension is missing, ask your host to enable it — the plugin needs it to read catalog zips. Everything else works once it is on.

Install the Demo Catalog

The plugin ships with one demo catalog: a mixed set of 10 puzzles. Installing it is the fastest way to get a real, playable page on your site.

  1. Go to Puzzle Catalogs → Settings.
  2. Under Demo Content, click Install demo catalogs.

The plugin creates a published Puzzle Catalog post called Demo: Mixed Puzzles and imports the 10 puzzles for you. A success notice confirms the puzzle types it installed.

Installing the demo is safe to repeat: clicking the button again updates the same demo post instead of creating a duplicate.

View the Playable Page

Open Puzzle Catalogs, find Demo: Mixed Puzzles, and click View. The catalog’s own page loads the interactive player: pick a puzzle, solve it in the browser, and use the player’s controls to check or reset it.

That page is the same kind of page your own catalogs will produce — the next tutorial shows how to publish one from puzzles you make yourself.

Outcome

You now have the plugin installed and a live, playable puzzle page on your site, built entirely from the bundled demo. When you are ready to publish your own puzzles, follow Publish a Puzzle Catalog: Export, Upload, and Show It on Your Site, and to combine several sets into one collection, see Combine Puzzle Sets with the Catalog Merge Tool.
