Creating CalcuDoku Puzzle Books with Instant Puzzle Books

Overview

Once you’ve designed your ideal CalcuDoku layout, it’s time to scale up.
The Instant Puzzle Books feature lets you generate multiple puzzles in one click — perfect for creating printable puzzle books, classroom worksheets, or large puzzle sets for online shops.

This tutorial shows how to use Instant Puzzle Books efficiently, how to set numbering and export options, and how to review your results using the built-in Preview system — which displays your puzzles at exact output quality.

Requirements

You’ll need:

Step 1 — Select the CalcuDoku module in Puzzle Maker Pro

Open Puzzle Maker Pro and choose CalcuDoku from the module list.
This ensures the Instant Puzzle Books panel loads with the correct options for logic-based puzzle generation.

If you’ve already defined your fonts, colors, and branding, those settings will carry over automatically.
The right-hand preview area will render the same high-quality output that your exported puzzles use — you’re looking at the final printed result.

Step 2 — Set the Quantity of Puzzles

Under the Instant Puzzle Books tab, enter how many puzzles you want to create — for example, 10, 50, or 100.
Each puzzle will use the same layout and logic parameters, but the arithmetic cages and solutions will be unique.

The generator will automatically create one puzzle and one solution per page, matching your current branding and layout. (With the Creator Edition you can create layouts with a custom number of puzzles per page).
You can use this system to build entire KDP interiors, classroom workbooks, or monthly puzzle packs.

After entering the quantity, click Next Preview to verify that cage variety looks good before committing to a large batch.

Step 3 — Define the Start Number

The Start Number controls puzzle numbering in your exports.
If you’re generating a long series, you might start at 1 for the first batch and 51 for the next — this keeps your book pagination consistent without overlaps.

Changing this value updates the numbering immediately in the preview, letting you confirm how it appears above or below the puzzle (depending on your brand layout).

Step 4 — Choose the Output Format (PDF, PPT, or JPG)

Next, select your preferred output format:

  • PDF — ideal for print-ready puzzle books.
  • PPT (PowerPoint) — perfect for quick adjustments or adding covers and text pages.
  • JPG — useful for image-based uploads, such as Etsy listings or bundle previews.

Click Next Preview again — the preview image represents the final render, including font thickness and cage line detail, exactly as it will export.

Step 5 — Generate and Review

When everything looks right, click Create.
Puzzle Maker Pro will automatically generate all puzzles and solutions according to your quantity and start number.

If something feels off — maybe too many multiplication cages or too few mixed operations — adjust your settings, click Next Preview, and try again before exporting a large batch.

Step 6 — Assemble Your Book

After generation, you’ll have a folder of puzzle and solution pages in your chosen format.
Combine them into your final interior using:

  • A PDF editor for merging directly,
  • PowerPoint for adding headers or covers, or
  • A desktop publishing tool (Affinity Publisher, InDesign, etc.) for polished layouts.

Keep your branding consistent and use a logical progression (for example, puzzles 1–25 = Easy, 26–50 = Normal).

Tips

  • For large puzzle books, test 3–5 previews before running the full batch.
  • Save presets for each combination of grid size and difficulty — it simplifies bulk production later.
  • Keep your brand layout minimal so logos or titles don’t crowd puzzle content.
  • You can use Instant Puzzle Books across all modules — the workflow is consistent once you’ve mastered it here.

Outcome

You’ve created your first full set of CalcuDoku puzzles with unique arithmetic cages and consistent branding.
You now understand how to balance quality control with production speed, previewing as you go to ensure every puzzle meets your standards.
Your generated puzzles are ready to assemble into complete books, digital packs, or classroom materials.
