👑 How to Use Boss Level Mode in Meta Puzzles for Math Maze

🧭 Overview

This tutorial shows you how to use Boss Level Mode in the Meta Puzzle Add-On for Puzzle Maker Pro – Math Maze. This mode lets you create a final “challenge puzzle” that uses the results of previous puzzles as missing values.

It’s perfect for:

  • Puzzle book creators who want a finale puzzle at the end of a section or book
  • Educators designing multi-step assessments or review challenges
  • Printable sellers creating logic-based progression packs

Boss Level puzzles bring everything together — literally.

📦 Required Modules

(Note: This tutorial is for the regular interface, not the Time Saver tab. In the Time Saver, you can select Boss Level for each row separately.)

🔧 Preparation

  1. Launch Puzzle Maker Pro
  2. Select Math Maze from the module dropdown
  3. Go to the Meta tab
  4. Choose Boss Level from the dropdown menu
  5. Set the number of steps (2–5) in the Steps field
  6. Optional: Adjust the position and label of the result box (e.g. top, left, “Outcome”)

Each step corresponds to one puzzle result used in the Boss Level puzzle.

🪜 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Set Up Regular Puzzles

  • First, generate 2–5 regular math maze puzzles (one for each step)
  • Each will include a result box with a small index number (1, 2, 3, etc.)

2. Switch to Boss Level Mode

  • In the Meta tab, select Boss Level
  • Set the number of steps to match the number of regular puzzles you’ve created (e.g. 3)

3. Generate the Boss Level Puzzle

  • Click Create
  • The Boss Level puzzle will include one missing value for each step
  • Each missing value is labeled with a small index (1, 2, etc.) to show which previous puzzle it connects to

4. Output as Needed

  • Use the Output Settings tab to save your puzzle as PDF, PNG, JPG, or SVG
  • Optionally, use Instant Puzzle Books to generate a print-ready file

🎯 Outcome

You’ll have a “final challenge” puzzle that:

  • Uses the results from earlier puzzles
  • Forces solvers to complete earlier puzzles accurately
  • Adds structure, reward, and difficulty to your puzzle book
