✅ Puzzle Maker Pro – Latin Squares Creative
Preparation
Before you start, have these ready:
A theme idea (e.g., farm animals, hearts, springtime)
Optional: 4–5 images or letters to match your theme
A folder where you want your puzzle saved
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Select the Puzzle Module
Launch Puzzle Maker Pro.
From the Puzzle Type dropdown, select Latin Squares.
2. Choose Your Grid Size
In the Puzzle Settings tab, set the grid size to 4×4 or 5×5.
These smaller sizes are best for fast themed puzzles and beginner solvers.
3. Switch to Themed Symbols
Choose your content type:
Letters: Enter 4 or 5 themed letters (e.g., L, O, V, E).
Images: Load your own icons or drawings (e.g., pumpkins, stars, bunnies).
Colors: Select color blocks for a modern visual feel.
Tip for educators: Use images or colors to increase puzzle challenge and cognitive load.
4. Switch to Image Mode and Set Your Symbol Count
In the Puzzle Settings tab, change the Symbol Type to Images.
Set your Grid Size to 4×4 (or 5×5), which means each puzzle will require 4 (or 5) unique images.
Set the Total Number of Images to something higher—5 or more lets you create variation.
In this example, we use 5 playful fruit icons: a smiling strawberry, winking watermelon, happy pineapple, giggling grape, and cheerful cherry.
Note: You can choose to:
Use the first 4 images for all puzzles, or
Let the software randomly select 4 images for each puzzle (ideal if you want visual variety across your set).
5. Add Your Images
Go to the Symbols tab.
Click the image slots or drag and drop your fruit icons into place.
Make sure each image is easy to recognize and distinct in shape or color—this helps solvers avoid confusion.
Transparent PNGs look best and allow your puzzle to blend seamlessly with the background.
6. Style the Puzzle Grid
Head to the Grid Styling tab.
Pick a line color that works well with your fruit images—light green or berry red often works nicely.
Adjust line width for readability.
Set a background color to give your puzzle personality—soft pastels or fruit-themed hues can really make it pop.
7. Preview and Finalize
Click Next Preview to see your puzzle.
Use the “Both” view to see the puzzle and its solution together.
If something looks off—like alignment or visibility—go back and tweak image size or grid styling.
8. Set Output Options and Save
Open the Output Settings tab:
Choose an image format: PNG or Transparent PNG is best for layered designs or books.
Set the image size (e.g., 1500px for high-quality print).
Choose your output folder where the puzzle and solution images will be saved.
When ready, click Create to generate and save your styled, themed puzzle.
