🎨 How to Create Color-Only Puzzles for Visual Learners or Therapy Books
(With Puzzle Maker Pro – Latin Squares Creative)
Overview
Sometimes numbers and letters aren’t the best fit—especially when designing puzzles for visual learners, early childhood, or cognitive therapy.
With Puzzle Maker Pro – Latin Squares Creative, you can create color-only logic puzzles, replacing traditional symbols with vibrant, customizable color blocks.
This tutorial will show you how to build these puzzles, style them for accessibility, and export clean, print-ready versions for classrooms, therapy sessions, or brain-training books.
Required Module
Preparation
Before you begin:
- Decide how many colors you’ll need (based on grid size: 3 for 3×3, 4 for 4×4, etc.)
- Choose your color palette: calming (pastels), high-contrast, or themed (e.g. rainbow, nature tones)
- Optional: Plan accessibility settings (contrast, background)

🎨 Example: Use 4 calming pastels for a therapeutic senior activity book, or bright primaries for early learners.

3. Style Your Puzzle for Accessibility
- Go to the Grid Styling tab:
- Set line color and line thickness for visibility.
- Choose a light or white background to ensure contrast with colored cells.
- Avoid similar shades (like pale yellow vs. cream) to keep the puzzle readable.
🧑‍⚕️ Tip: High-contrast colors like blue, orange, and purple work well for visual impairment support.
4. Preview and Adjust
- Click Next Preview to view your puzzle.
- Use the Both view to check the puzzle and its solution.
- If colors are too similar, tweak your palette for better distinction.
